Executive Coaching
Executive
Coaching includes the identification of an individual
Executive Coach for each Executive based on the
experiences/expertise/orientation of the Executive. There are
three components to the coaching process: Identification of
Needs, Executive Improvement Plan, and Evaluation of Achieving
Goals/Objectives.
-
Identification of Needs: Identification of an
executive’s needs includes review of written information for
organizational goals/objectives, targeted performance, and
improvement plans; a personal interview with the executive;
observation of executive’s interactions with other team(s)
members; identification of leadership/communication style(s);
identification of executive strengths; identification of
executive’s needs; prioritization of executive’s needs.
-
Executive Improvement Plan: The development of an
Executive Improvement Plan is an interactive process with
the Executive Coach proposing a plan with goals, objectives,
activities, and time lines for review/discussion/refinement
based on conversations with the Executive. The Plan is
designed to cover an agreed upon time frame (e.g., three
months) and requires at least one face-to-face meeting per
month and at least weekly phone call conversations to
provide for celebration of successes, diagnosis of barriers
identified which prevent progress, alternative solutions,
and refinement of the plan.
-
Evaluation of Achieving Goals/Objectives: At the end of
the time frame (e.g., three months), a focused conversation
with the Executive and the Coach his conducted to mutually
evaluate progress in achieving goals/objectives and to
determine if each goal/objective has been achieved, if it
needs to be monitored for continued growth, or if an
improvement plan is needed for another time frame.
